Tracy Lakes

The Tracy Lake Groundwater Recharge Project is a multi-benefit project located downstream of the Woodbridge Irrigation District dam.  The project consists of a 25 cfs pump station that pumps water from the Mokelumne River into South Tracy Lake.  The water in the lake provides wildlife habitat and percolates for groundwater recharge.   The lake also serves as a conveyance facility that enables a landowner to pump some of the water out of the lake and use it for irrigation of a vineyard, in-lieu of pumping groundwater.  This project was funded by a combination of federal grant funds and landowner assessments.
